There are altogether 9 planets in our solar system yet the ones which are the most important in ilm-e-adad (numerology) are the Moon, the Sun, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Venus and Saturn.
These 7 celestial bodies, which influence our lives, have the following characteristics:
Moon: Moon symbolizes the inner world of intuitions and feelings
. The Moon reaches a new constellation after a period of two days. It is the ruling planet of the Cancer. It governs Monday.
Mercury: It stays in a constellation till a period of 15 days and its synodic cycle gets completed in 128 days. Mercury cannot do anything on its own. It is useless and weak when it is alone. However, it strengthens the planet with which it is seated. If a planet is placed unfavorably then its evil effects will get stronger. If there is a favorable planet then its effects shall get enhanced. If there is no other malefic planet seated along with Mercury then it becomes quite constructive, if placed with the Sun. If some enemy planet is found then Mercury’s effect will become negative. Mercury is a symbol of our thinking process. It governs Wednesday and is the ruling planet for Gemini.
Venus: This planet remains in a constellation till a period of 25 days and its synodic cycle is completed in 225days and two hours. Venus governs Friday and it is the ruling planet of Libra. It stands for love, artistic abilities, harmony and refinement.
Sun: This star governs the zodiac sign, Leo and also the gemstone, Peridot. It stays in a constellation till a period of 30 days. It rules Sundays and it stands for the ego and individuality.
Mars: The normal stay of Mars
in a sign if of around 40 days. This is the ruling star of the zodiac sign, Leo and it stands for energy and courage. It stays in a constellation till a stipulated period of 30 days. Mars governs Tuesdays.
Jupiter: This planet symbolizes expansiveness and it has a synodic period of 399 days. It completes its revolution in 11.86 years. It governs Thursdays and rules over Sagittarius.
Saturn has a revolution period of 29.5 years roughly and it remains in one zodiac sign till a period of 30 days. It symbolizes knowledge. People tend to gain knowledge under its influence, though not easily. It rules Saturdays and is the ruling planet for Capricorn.
